Just like the bowing issue with Obama.
WELL, not exactly: Obama is the president. Prejean is just a girl who stated her opinion.

Hey at least she didn't turn out gay like many conservatives who oppose gay marriage.
"many?"

In comparison to what? All conservatives everywhere or just that group of conservatives standing over there?

I could see the "issue" if they were/are more RECENT, but if they were all in a time in her life when we're all somewhat "young and dumb" I don't see what the big deal is.

Does anybody have the details as to WHEN these latest videos/photos were taken?

After the first videos came out they asked her boyfriend when the photos were taken. He said they were taken when she was 20. He went on to say that she asked him to lie and say they were taken when she was 17.

So you choose to believe the boyfriend who is the one who allowed this video (intended to remain private between a boyfriend and girlfriend) to become "public"? That is your right, but I choose to view him in a "less credible" light since he chose to break a confidence he KNEW would cause humiliation.

BTW, where did you get this info.?, I'd like to read more on it.

Just like the bowing issue with Obama. To me, she is not an issue

I'm curious as to how the President of the United States BOWING to ANYONE (outside of a personal/social situation) can be considered a NON-issue? There is NEVER a reason for a POTUS to bow to ANYONE when acting in an official capacity.

To me, this is EXACTLY the mentality that is destroying this country. You are following in lockstep with the Obama "doctrine" that the U.S. is "just another nation" amongst many. I suppose you agree with his "apology tours" as well?

I don't see it that way. The President is a guy we elected. He is not a king. What about Senator's, should they not bow? Why not? Is your mother or a Senator any less important than Obama?

I don't think we should put the President on a pedestal. What if he turns out to be a perv or a crook?

Five years from now I am not going to be saying "Wow, I wish Obama didn't bow to the Japanese Emperor". Now look at what happened...

This is what is more likely - The Japanese will view us as being less arrogant.

And how exactly is that working out? Did Obama get concessions out of Russia? We are dismantiling the European missle shield. Did Russia stop Iran from pursuing nuclear weapons? Our leaders should deal from a position of strength, not weakness.

It is the office of President, not the man himself that is the issue here. That is why I said when acting in an "official capacity". I compare it to the protocol when displaying the flags. The flag of the United States is NEVER to be flown lower than (bow to) another flag. Just the same, the POTUS should never do so either when he is in an official capacity as the most powerful leader on earth. Now, I realize that Obama (and seemingly you, Tlib) doesn't think the U.S. "should" be considered anything other than "just another country". Thus far he's doing an excellent job of lowering our status as a "superpower". And you think Palin is "dumb"?

Actually, they'll see us as WEAK, just like everyone else Obama has sucked up to and "apologized" to for the country. Ridiculous!

And as to the Japanese viewing us as less arrogant ... we are already viewed as less arrogant than they are: Because we are! WAY less arrogant than they are (as evidenced by their leader not also bowing to our alleged leader).

First off, I never called Palin dumb. Find the quote. I said she wasn't that smart. Compared to the average person, she is smart. But to be President? No.

As per Obama bowing - we will see if it causes some misery or war or something. I would like to see where it says in the Constitution that the President is above the rest of the world emperors and kings. He has only bowed to kings and emperors, so far. We will have to see if the sky falls because of his bow.

Here is the bottom line. During the Bush years there were complaints about Bush from liberals. Some of them were worthless complaints, IMO. And when I saw it, I said it was a waste of breath. Here I see Republicans complaining about a bow to an "Emperor". You are wasting political capital while Rome is burning.

O.K., now THAT one, I buy!

Well stated, tLIB.

I'm out.
