Previoiusly, when posting comments or responding to others' comments, we had a box in which to type our responses/comments that was big enough to see several lines of the response. As of today, you can only see two lines of response at any given time and when you advance to a subsequent line, you have to scroll up and down using really tiny scroll bars to see more than the current line and the immediate previous line.

I this a new functionality? If so, can I change it back to what it was? It is really tedious to have to scroll back, two lines at a time, to find a part of a previous post you want to respond to.

GooDave, now you are a little more cynical or is it realistic....by the way, is it Goo Dave? or Good Ave? In time, all these beautiful little things will take care of themselves.

Uhm ... what? Will you please rephrase the question and provide a little context to it as well? I'm not sure to what you're in reference.

It's just "Dave." Back a gazillion years ago, when virtual presences were just emerging, I was casting about for a screen name that would include my real name. Back then, keystrokes were important and many sites restricted the length of such pseudonyms to just a few characters so, since the screen name "Dave" was usually already taken and the utilities recommended some ridiculous combo of "Dave" with random numbers following it, I searched a lot of them for a contraction of two words, one of which was either "Dave" or "David." I quickly jettisoned such smarmy pseudonyms as "Davidelicious" or BADave/SADave, TIREDave, and the like but most anywhere I went in those days, I found GOODave (a contraction with the word "Good" and my first name) wasn't ever taken (well, almost never). SO I grabbed it here since I was one of the first ones to register on this site... but I use and have used other screen names elsewhere, as well. "Como" having been one of my favorites because it is the inquisitive "What?" in Spanish.

But you can call me anything you'd like, including Dave if you'd like.

Hmmm: Apparently no clarification is forthcoming ...

Back on topic gentlemen. This is now officially annoying. Can't see more than one line at a time. Any moderators here? When will this be fixed?

I dropped a dime on the mod. He'll respond when he gets a chance, I'm sure they're busy though.

Now that the "response" window issue is fixed, I'd like to ask about the time-out function.

Most of the time, I have plenty of time to write and post my response. However, SOMETIMES, I put a lot of research and numbers into my responses which do take time to look up. At those times, my response window is apparently open too long and times out because when I hit "post reply," I get an error window.

It does no good to hit the "back" button, either, because the response window has already expired OR all I get is the quote without any of my response.

I suppose I could write out all of my responses on a word-doc and, then, cut-and-paste them into the response window, but I have no idea how long the response window remains "open" before it times out on me, I really don't relish adding such a cumbersome step to my responses, AND it really does seem a lot easier to re-set the timing on the response windows to something longer than what it is today.
