If not for the content, I would be gone. Seriously, I have to log in to comment on the pantagraph. When I go to the opinoin forum I am forced to log on again. That is bad design. Also, why is it that the comment function on the pantagraph works only part of the time. Nothing like going back to see the responses to comments I submitted hours ago, only for the system to ask me to leave a comment because it thinks I am the first to comment.

New Utility or Function Added?

Previoiusly, when posting comments or responding to others' comments, we had a box in which to type our responses/comments that was big enough to see several lines of the response. As of today, you can only see two lines of response at any given time and when you advance to a subsequent line, you have to scroll up and down using really tiny scroll bars to see more than the current line and the immediate previous line. I this a new functionality? If so, can I change it back to what it was? It is really tedious to have to scroll back, two lines at a time, to find a part of a previous post you want to respond to.

do you read the articles before printing them?!

Sunday page A4 Please read the article "third party challenges shakes up elections" --you read the whole article and sort out who is who and at the end Bill Owens is thrown in. Who is he and where did he come from! He isn't mentioned in the whole article....then the race is thrown to him?! I want to know , did Beth Fouhy really write an article this bad or did someone hack it? I thought you had to explain your characters before the last line of the column.

LED light bulbs.

I remember when LEDs first came out in calculators. Engineers were probably amazed to see how much light they got from very little watts. Then they came out with laser pointers, night lights etc. Now we saw some bulbs in Sam's Club. They have a bunch of LEDs (white light) in them. The smaller ones are not as bright as regular light bulbs, but they use very little energy. They are about 1.5 watt. Amazing.Now they have to work on the price. They were about $5 each at Sam's. This is the future in lighting. You can touch the bulbs and they are not hot. Very little energy is wasted in heat. Almost all of the energy released is in the form of light. LEDs last a long time too. I don't know about the bulbs, but the LEDs in other appliances last for years. In fact, the other electronics fail before the LEDs do, usually.

This new format is horrible! Articles are hard to find, comments sections error out and you can no longer view pantagraph.com from a smartphone.

This is not a technology advance, but a step back.

Issues With Comments

Okay, so am I the only one noticing issues with "comments" on nearly every story? I've noticed that when I try to add comments, if I happen to not get the error message, they just vanish most times. Just...poof...never show up. And this is consistently...so I doubt it's a "fluke" or something. Anyway, in addition to that it seems like stories often say there are "X Comments" but upon clicking the link there is some other number, entirely (more or less). What's going on with comments, and when will it ever be back to normal and reliable functionality?

If creating a login to post comments on the Pantagraph.com web site automatically creates a membership in My.Pantagraph.com, what if we already have a membership in My.Pantagraph.com? And what if we want to keep two separate "identities" for the two web sites?
